PROJECT GOAL

To support the safety of athletes while providing a relaxing and fun atmosphere for players and fans alike.

THE SANDLOT - PROJECT UPDATE

The Diamond Club has an active Facebook and Twitter campaign and have connected with many businesses, community members, and current alumni.

Construction quotations were solicited and on Monday, June 28 at the Regular School Board meeting, the board approved the quotation for the project to commence.  We held a ground breaking ceremony on Monday, August 23rd at 6:00 PM.  There was an outpouring of support via the attendance size.  Thank you to all donors, contractors, consultants, and community members for your support!

We hope for construction to begin in September.  The permitting process has been slow due to an unprecedented  amount of permit applications this summer and we are waiting our turn.

THE SANDLOT NARRATIVE

Our narrative - which tells the story behind the project - can be found in the PDF below:

DONOR RECOGNITION

Here's how we'll say THANK YOU to all our partners on this project:

THE VISION

**Our vision of the project has developed over many months of planning and solicited input from all of the project partners.  Please note that a final design is not complete and the LOOK and LAYOUT may change.**

FROM THE NORTHEAST

This perspective gives us a look at the THE SANDLOT as we approach from the northeast.  You'll recognize the storage shed that houses the grill which would be move to the building and refridgerator which will soon be part of the concession area.  The backdrop features the Varsity Baseball field.

Can you smell the grilled hot dogs yet?  Hear the crack of the bat?   Hear the cheering fans?  We can't wait to treat everyone to some softball and baseball games again!

FROM THE EAST

This perspective gives us a look at the THE SANDLOT from between the Varsity Softball field and Varsity Baseball field while standing on the trail.  You'll see the storage shed with a backdrop of the Junior Varsity baseball field.  On the left is the Varsity Baseball field.

This gives us a great look at green grass and a blue sky - PERFECT for softball and baseball!

FROM THE NORTHEAST - CLOSE UP

This perspective gives us a close-up look at the THE SANDLOT as we approach from the northeast.  This image help to define how amazing this project will be for the full complex.  Please note the "Tiger Eyes" image on the side of the building.  We'd love to incorporate this image on the final product somehow and hope to engage young artists from the school to help.

We hope to have a hard time figuring out how to  incorporate the "Tiger Eyes" and find space to recognize all of the wonderful donors on the exterior walls.

ELEVATION DRAWINGS

This perspective gives us an "elevation" view of the THE SANDLOT.  The intention of an elevation perspective is to provide a 360 degree horizontal view of the building.  We are showing the "Tiger Eyes"  on the north exterior wall and the "Welcome to the Jungle" image on the south exterior wall.

We'd love to incorporate these images on the final product .  It would be fun to see what our young artists can do.

THANK YOU to SCHEELS for being a Grand Slam partner with the Diamond Club!!
